Tom Linn
Police Chief
Chief Tom
M.E. Linn earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the
University of Central Oklahoma. While pursuing his degree,
Chief Linn’s initial professional employment was through the
J.C. Penney Company Management Program. Later, he began his
law enforcement career with the Norman Police Department.
Chief Linn promoted to sergeant and was placed in charge of
personnel and training. Upon receipt of his degree, Chief
Linn was appointed as a special agent for the Federal Bureau
of Investigation (FBI). During Chief Linn’s FBI career, he
served in the Foreign Counter Intelligence and Violent
Crimes and Major Offenses (VCMO) programs. Additionally, he
was selected to serve four years as an FBI Academy
instructor specializing in firearms and tactics. Chief Linn
served his last twelve years in the Oklahoma Division.
During this period, he work VCMO matters and provided
firearms and tactical training to Oklahoma law enforcement
officers and FBI special agents.
Following
Chief Linn’s retirement from the FBI, he was employed as a
deputy sheriff, a special agent for the Oklahoma State
Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), a special investigator,
under contract, for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management,
the Department of Homeland Security and he was a police
chief.
Chief Linn
has received thousands of training hours in homicide
investigations, evidence collection, advanced firearms
training, tactical instruction, interrogation and interview
techniques and many other law enforcement related courses.
