Mayor Pro-Tem Larry Gage

Larry M. Gage has lived in Piedmont for over 20 years. He has three children all of which graduated from Piedmont High School. Larry served in the Navy and is a Vietnam Veteran. He retired from the FAA in 2007 as an engineer, having served the Federal Government for 38 years. He is currently a contract employee working at FAA with (SAIC) a scientific, engineering, and technology applications company. Larry served on the City Council from 2004-2007 and was re-elected in 2010. He has a Bachelors Degree from Southern Nazarene University.

Councilman Vernon Woods

Vernon Woods has been a Councilman from Ward 2 since April 2009. He and his family moved to Piedmont in 1987, and reside in Vail’s Ranchettes. He and his wife of 46 years, Joan, have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Vernon has been active in the information technology industry for more than 40 years, and recently retired from IBM. Vernon was a Piedmont Volunteer Fireman for 5 years, was one of the first nationally registered EMTs on the department, and received several life saving awards. In addition to his duties as an active City Councilman, Vernon is a volunteer driver for the Piedmont Service Center, and has played a significant role in the creation of a new economic development organization involving 10 other surrounding cities.

Councilman Hoss Cooley

Hoss Cooley has lived in Piedmont for almost 30 years. He and his wife Ruth have raised two beautiful children who have graduated from Piedmont High School. Hoss has served in the Marines from 1968 to 1972 and has done a tour in Vietnam. He went into the construction trade in 1976 and has been self employed ever since.

Councilman Wade Johnson

Councilman Wade Johnson has been a Piedmont resident since 2007. He is married to Tiffany Johnson and has three children, one who attends Piedmont High School. He works at Beams Seat Belts and participates with several organizations and programs. Mr. Johnson works with Safe Kids Oklahoma, Safe Kids World Wide, and the International Association of Fire Chiefs to name a few of the programs. He is a graduate from Oklahoma Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Wade enjoys sports, fishing, and spending quality time with friends and family.
