When does the City Council meet? |

| Regularly schedules
meetings of the City of Piedmont's City Council/Piedmont
Municipal Authority (PMA) will be held the fourth (4th) Monday
of each month. When the fourth (4th) Monday is a holiday,
legally declared by the State of Oklahoma, the meeting will be
held the following day. All meetings of the City of
Piedmont's City Council/Piedmont Municipal Authority (PMA) will
normally begin at 7:00pm at the George Fina Municipal Building,
314 Edmond Road Northwest. Public Notice of the meetings
will be posted at the front door of the George Fina Municipal
Building at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the meeting,
excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legally declared holidays,
setting forth thereon the date, time, place and agenda for the
meeting. |

On occasion,
Special Meetings of the City Council will be conducted.
At which, Public Notice of the meetings will be posted
at the front door of the George Fina Municipal Building
at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the meeting,

When do I need a building permit? |
| |
|
You will need to obtain a
building permit if you are planning on building a structure that
is 200 square feet or more. |
| |
|
With all
Building Permits requiring a staff review, we are unable
to issue building permits on an immediate basis.
Residential building permits will be available 1-3 days
from date of submission. One set of plans are to
accompany the completed building permit for review.
Commercial building permits require extensive review and
will be completed on a timely basis. Two sets of
plans are to accompany the building permit for review.
Staff will contact you when your building permit has
been issued and is ready for pick up and you will be
required to pay for the permit at that time.
In addition, any
new residential structure will be subject to a
Seven Hundred
Fifty Dollar ($750.00) Infrastructure Use Fee.
Water Meter Tap Fees are One Thousand Fifty Dollars
($1050.00) and Sewer Tap Fees are One Thousand Two
Hundred Dollars ($1200.00) if applicable.
No construction
is to begin without an authorized City of Piedmont
Building Permit

Any application shall be null and void if the foundation
is not completed within six (6) months.
All improvements
shall be one foot above the base flood elevation and
comply with the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance. (Code
of Ordinances, Part 12, Chapter 6) |

Do I need a permit for garage or yard sales? |

| The City of Piedmont does
not require you to obtain a Sign Permit for garage or yard
sales. Placement of the signs are not allowed in any
public easements. Signage placed on private property will
require the permission of the owner. |

Signs may be put up
for a period of no more than 48 hours before and 24
hours after the sale. Fines may be assessed if all
signs are not removed by the end of the 24 hour period
after the Garage or Yard Sale has been concluded. |

How do I report a Code Enforcement Violation? |

To report a code
enforcement violation, please contact our city offices by
email or calling
373-2621 . Please note the nature of the complaint and the
address of the complaint. Any reporting information will
be kept confidential. |

Who do I report stray animals to? |
| |
|
Piedmont has a
leash law against animals running at large, however, at
this the City of Piedmont does not have an Animal
Control or pound. Stray animals will be handled in
a complaint only basis. If you have a stray
animal, except for a cat, in your yard, you may call the
Police Department at 405-373-1334 and an officer will
try to take care of the situation. |

Who do I contact after hours or on the
weekend if I have a water emergency? |

If you experience
an emergency with your water after office hours or on
weekends or holiday you will need to call 558-8783.
There will public utilities worker on duty who can
assist you with your problem. |

What are the water billing dates, and when are
the late fees applied? |

|
Your water and
trash bills are due on the 15th of every month.
You may drop off
your payments at the drop box outside the city offices
or mail them. A late fee of 10% will be added to
your bill if the City of Piedmont does not receive your
payment or if you bill is not postmarked by the 15th of
each month.
The failure of User
to pay water, sewer and/or waste disposal charges duly
imposed shall result in the automatic imposition of the
following penalties;

Non-payment by
the due date will be subject to a penalty of ten
percent (10%) of the delinquent amount.
-
Non-payment of
with the water or waste disposal service charge
within thirty (30) days from the due date will
result in water being shut off from the User's
property.
-
In the event it
becomes necessary for the City of Piedmont to shut
off the water from a User's property, a fee of Forty
Dollars ($40.00) will be charge for a reconnect of
the service.
-
Non-payment of
any amount accruing hereunder for a period of sixty
(60) days, all rights to the User to water, sewer
and/or waste disposal services shall terminate.
Upon such termination, the City of Piedmont may take
such actions deemed reasonable and necessary to
collect said amounts the due and owing plus all
court cost and attorney's fees incurred thereby.

Can I pay my water bill online? |
| |
At this time, the
Piedmont Municipal Authority does not have
provisions for on-line utility payments. For your
convenience we do offer automatic bank draft. You
may pick up this form at our offices or click
here.
Return the form with a voided check or deposit
slip. Piedmont Municipal Authority also accepts
cash, check, or money order payments.

What will the trash service pick up? |

|
The trash service
will only pick up what is in the polycart. Extra
polycarts are available for an additional $8.76 per
month. They will not pick up any extra items nor will
they empty the polycart if it contains a dead animal.
The city offers a big trash day or clean up day in the
spring and in the fall for any extra items you are
wanting to get rid of. For additional information
