Flash Flood Safety Tips

Flash flood may occur when heavy rain is localized and small creeks or rivers begin to overflow or there is too much rain for the local drains to handle.

Here are a few safety tips to follow in case of a flash flood:

	Do not cross a flowing stream on foot where the water is above your ankles.
	Do not drive into the water.  Remember "Turn Around Don't Drown".
	Be extra careful at night because water is harder to see.
	Stay tuned to weather stations for updates and be able to move to higher ground.
